ARTIST BIOGRAPHY -Rachael Nambula was born c1940 at Stirling Station north of Tea Tree in Central Australia. She is the Daughter to the Famous Evelyn Pultara. This painting tells the story of the Pencil Yam . The Pencil Yam is a food source that the Aboriginal Woman would gather in the Utopia region. Women would celebrate the Pencil Yam through Ceremony “Awelye” Dreaming. Her works are colourful and intricate expressions of the songs and stories associated with her plant totem, the Bush Yam, and its Seeds .Rachael is a teacher's assistant at the Neutral Junction Station Primary School in the Barrow Creek region and studying in Darwin specialising in Aboriginal Culture programs. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PAINTING DESCRIPTION -- This Painting is Acrylic on Canvas .
